2100 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd N, Birmingham, AL 35203 Sunday, April 10, 2016 7:00pm Adele broke records a week ago when she released the lead single for her album 25, which is titled “Hello”. This is the multi-Grammy, already record-breaking, 27 year old’s return to the world of music after leaving us with her soulful and fitting Bond theme for the titular movie, Skyfall, in 2012. What a return it was, having only been slightly revealed during an X-Factor commercial break, but other than that, being a shocking and exciting sign that Queen A isn’t dead, only her writer’s block.
There is a man who has shot, assaulted, threatened, harassed, and held a knife to the women in his life. He is known widely for these crimes, but rather than being incarcerated for his violent and illegal behavior, they are dismissed as part of his eccentric character and his victims are blamed for having to be the stupidity to be around him. This man is Charlie Sheen, an actor who, despite the nature of his crimes, has gone on to a successful career making millions in television and movies. Instead of prison, Sheen got rehab. Instead of justice, his victims got mockery. Sheen is not alone in his transgressions. RAINN reports that one in six women will be assaulted at some point in her life, with ninety-seven percent of their assailants going free. As a result, we cannot continue to celebrate these men and support them fanatically despite their acts of violence, and it is our duty as responsible citizens to remove from public favor such celebrities who use their positions of fame and wealth to commit violent acts.
You might as well listen your favorites while you’re doing your least favorite.

Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell Tour 1817 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203 November 7 7pm-10pm It’s a catchy song, distinctive by its bouncy, bubblegum-pink melody, sung by a team of beautiful British boys. They serenade an unnamed teenage girl; she’s insecure, she’s shy, and she doesn’t know she’s beautiful. The entire point of the song is in her naiveté, how badly she needs these boys to make her feel pretty, how she becomes the object of seemingly innocent teenage desire.
